The Pacifica Foundation, which invented the idea of listener sponsored non-commercial broadcasting, is the licensee for KPFA and KPFB in Berkeley, KPFK in Los Angeles, WBAI in NY, WPFW in DC, and KPFT in Houston Texas. It also includes the Pacifica Radio Archives, one of the premier repositories of recorded documentaries, public affairs, news and cultural programming in the US. It also has a network of hundreds of affiliated radio stations with which it shares content.
